Not Your Normal Christmas Light Show ("we," "us," or "our") is a free Christmas light show synced to music, run by the Miller family at our home in Bloomington, Illinois. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit notyournormalchristmaslightshow.com (the "Site") or send us a message, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar technologies in more detail.
The short version: we collect very little, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we never sell your information.
1. Who We Are
Not Your Normal Christmas Light Show is a non-commercial family light show created by Max Miller and run by the Miller family at 11 Jodi Lane, Bloomington, IL 61701. The easiest way to reach us is the contact formon the Site, or a message on Facebookor Instagram.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect what you type in:
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it (it is optional)
- The topic you pick (for example a show question, a song request, a project for Max Danger Construction, an internship for Max, or donations) and your message
If you message us on Facebook or Instagram, those platforms' own privacy policies apply to that conversation.
b. Information collected automatically
- Technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you request are processed by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, to deliver the Site and protect it from attacks.
- Embedded content: when the Site shows a map or plays a video, your browser connects to the map or video provider (see Section 6).
- Form security data: the text of contact form messages is checked by an automated spam filter so we are not flooded with junk mail.
We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service, advertising pixels, or remarketing tags on the Site.
3. How We Use Information
- To read and answer your message
- To operate and secure the Site, including blocking spam and abuse
- To comply with the law and protect our rights
We do not send marketing emails or text messages, and we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with:
- Service providers that run the Site and deliver contact form messages to our family email inboxes (see Section 6)
- ISC MEDIA, our family's web company, which builds and maintains the Site and runs its spam filter
- Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect anyone's rights and safety
5. Donations
The show raises money for Compass Church's foster care ministries. Donate buttons on the Site take you to Compass Church's own Church Center giving page. Your gift and payment details go directly to the church and its giving platform; they never pass through the Site or reach us.

7. Cookies and Tracking
The Site uses only a few cookies and similar technologies, grouped into Strictly Necessary and Functional categories. Functional features (the maps and the video player) are on unless you turn them off. You can change your choice any time with the link at the bottom of every page. 8. How Long We Keep Information
We keep contact form messages in our email for as long as we need them to answer you and keep track of the conversation, and then delete them. Messages flagged as spam are held for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically.
9. Security
The Site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect the messages you send us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information
- Get a copy in a portable format
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To make a request, send us a message through the contact form. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond to the appeal within 60 days. You can change your cookie choices at any time with Cookie Settings.
11. Children's Privacy
Families of all ages are welcome at the show, but the Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, let us know and we will delete it.
12. Links to Other Sites
The Site links to other websites and apps, including the PulseMesh audio stream, Compass Church and its giving page, our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages, map and directions apps, our sponsors' websites and other local light shows. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version.
